European Romatic on the St. Croix

Described by the owner as a Romantic, “English/Italian Castle”, this unique home provided many opportunities for interesting landscape ideas. To maximize the permeable area on this lot, the driveway was designed to be permeable by using specific pavers. Two raingardens are included to aid with stormwater management.

A “secret garden” alongside the main entrance provides an interesting spatial experience walking to the backyard. A boxwood lined quartered garden with a central fountain outlines an outdoor room to walk through. A stepping stone path surrounded by fragrant flowers leads the eye and your feet to the open recreational lawn in the rear of the house.
